Kern County Foreclosures
With cities such as Bakersfield, Ridgecrest, and Tehachapi, Kern County has a unique mixture of foreclosures in suburban, rural, and popular retirement destinations. Though Kern County did not see the same level of rapid growth as many others in California, since 2008 it has seen the same amount of foreclosures by percentage of homeowners when compared to other counties. With an overwhelming percentage of its infrastructure coming from farming, oil, and other land development, Fresno County has been hit harder than most counties in its overall economic outlook. Because of this, foreclosures in this market have taken longer to turn around to new homebuyers and banks have been forced to drop home values far below what they would wish. |
